On February 23, 2016, Conservative Member of Parliament for Yorkton Melville Cathay Wagantall introduced her Private Members Bill “Cassie and Molly’s Law” in the House of Commons. This legislation targets violent criminals who commit a criminal offense against a pregnant woman and knowingly cause injury or death of the preborn child.  (Go here for more information/details)

The tragic story of Jeff Durham who suffered the loss of Cassie and their daughter Molly, which motivated Wagantall to introduce Bill-C 225, is one from which we do not want to see similar results. Molly and Cassie were both murdered but the gap in the Criminal Code does not provide justice for Molly.

I demand justice for Molly and want to let you know that MOLLY MATTERS.  Therefor, I beseach you to pass Bill C-225 so that future "Mollys" will not be ignored or defiled by not recognizing them as people who matter in this great Canada of ours.

Bill C 225 is exactly what our CIVILIZED country needs!  If we can’t, as a country, agree on something this basic (that even unborn children matter), then I am concerned for where our priorities lie.   We hope that if Mr. Trudeau, as Prime Minister, is to show his support for women and for ALL lives, THIS is where it must start.

Thank you for your consideration and support in this matter - please vote Yay, in favour of Bill C 225.

Thank you.

Yours Truly,
